This blog is about the teachings of the Pathwork Guide. Most likely, if you found your way here, you know something about the Pathwork. If you don’t, a good place to get oriented is the official site of the International Pathwork Foundation: www.pathwork.org
When I first started this blog, I wrote the following:
“My intention is to summarize all 258 Pathwork Lectures and to post the summaries here. This project is my own, and is not sponsored, sanctioned or otherwise affiliated with the Foundation. It’s just something that I feel strongly called to do. I know that there are many people for whom the basic concepts of the Pathwork resonate, but for whom the Lectures are verbally overwhelming. I know that summaries can be a good point of access for people who are interested in getting a basic feel of the Pathwork, and that summaries can inspire people to make the effort to read and work with the Lectures. I have also experienced that summaries can be a good tool for reinforcing the content of a Lecture, and that a body of summaries is relatively easy to search for particular concepts.
To those who might ask, who am I to do this, my answer is, “I’m someone who feels the call and is willing to put in the time and effort.” If someone else feels the same way, they’re obviously free to do their own version of what I’m doing. My ego attaches a little bit to this project, but my deeper attitude is that the more (competent) summarizers there were, the better off everyone would be. So yes, I claim that I’m competent to do this, as I’m sure many other people are as well.
As for sharing personal information about me, I judge that it would be irrelevant to the purpose. I’m a Pathworker. I have wonderful light-filled aspects and I have problematic, confused aspects, just like everyone else. The more I work with the Lectures, the more the balance shifts in a favorable direction, but it’s a gradual process. If you’re new to Pathwork and you’re expecting something quick, I doubt you’ll find that here. It takes time, but I’ve found and seen that it also takes us to some very deep and wonderful places, if we’re willing to put the effort in.
So that’s enough introduction. I’m going to start posting Lectures, and sometimes I’ll post my own comments on them. By the end of 2007, there should be at least 150 summaries here. Other than that, we’ll see what happens. My hope is that at least a few people will be served. I know that I will be.”
Since then, I’ve temporarily stopped summarizing Lectures, because when I got to 94, I felt ready to write a book based on what I know about the Pathwork, and that’s what I’ve been working on since the summer of 2007. I’m sure that one day I’ll resume this project, and in the meantime, I may post an excerpt from my book here, but in any event, that’s the current status.
I hope what you find here is useful to you.
Peace,
“skywhale”
I love you!
Haven’t read 1 word.
Google searched for “pathwork be in this world”
Found you.
Felt your spirit.
Now I’m gonna read…
Thank you for that nice energy . . .
I hope you like what you find.
Are you a Pathworker?
Dear Skywhale,
You are doing a wonderful thing.
Here is at least one pathworker who values your input.
Keep going.
Best wishes and blessings prayed for in regard to all our efforts.
Let us believe the Guide, in spite of all appearances, that:
Life is unending, we are ultimately good (every one of us), there is never anything to fear, the universe is totally just and benign, and, most wonderful of all, concerning our efforets – ‘It is possible’.
Dear Son of Moses,
Thank you so much for that. For a while I’ve been in a life phase of very little personal connection around this work. It’s really nice to get some feedback and some appreciation. I’ve been neglecting this task a little in the past few weeks because of some other Pathwork-related demands on my energy, but your message will support me in bringing the focus back here.
Blessings,
sw
Dear Skywhale,
Hello again. Thanks for your further work, but having almost got a third of the way through, you are slowing down!
Did you know that you are being caught up with ****?
In fact, she has got up to Lecture 48
Her url is: ****.
Now whose going to finish first!
Good luck, and thanks again from dear old England.
By the way, my e-mail address is ****
I want to respond to the above comment and explain why I edited it.
I took out the identification of the person who is mentioned as also doing summaries because I prefer to maintain a separation. I left the mention of alternate summaries, though, because I have no problem with people being alerted to their existence and I presume that if they look, they will be able to find them.
I also took out the e-mail address of the poster to avoid it’s being used by spammers.
Regarding my slowing down, I will have 94 summaries up quite soon, and then things will slow down considerably for a time as I finish the Pathwork-based book I am working on. That should be my primary focus until at least early September. I would love to meet my goal of 150 for this year, but I’m following where my energy wants to go, and I’m actually very excited about this book. I’ll finish the summaries project when I finish it, and if someone else gets done before me . . . well, whatever.
Thanks for the encouragement. It’s nice to know someone appreciates this effort.
Dear S.,
I would love to know a little about your coming book. (How is it going, by the way?).
Incidentally, I am in a small Pathwork group in England UK.
No-one seems to have written about the cosmology of the Guide. I found a short passage you wrote on this subject for a blog called ‘de-conversion’ which interested me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Blessings to all of us on the Path (indeed, we are truly blessed to have the Path)
David
Hi, David,
The book is going well, thank you. It’s running about 90,000 words right now, and I have about half of that nicely edited and the other half maybe 10 days away. There is a chapter on cosmology and one on reincarnation, as well as chapters on spiritual law, personal faults and images; the human psyche; how to use this work to heal the planet; and wholesome versus abusive ways of working with the Teachings. When I’m done with the manuscript, I have to find an agent, which I hope will happen organically and without too much difficulty.
I have a few more summaries which I will post, and I would like to try to get to 129 (the halfway point) before the end of the year, but I’m finding it very difficult to tear myself away from the book right now, so I have to be flexible with myself and let things unfold the way they want to.
Thanks for your interest. I’d love to hear more about what Pathwork looks like in the UK.
Peace,
– SW
Dear S.,
Put me down for a copy of the book when published. I would even be willing to read a proof and comment (I am a school teacher), if this would be useful and needed.
As for the shape of Pathwork over here – very small! The group I am in has about five people and there are only a very few other groups I know about, some even smaller.
People from Holland have trained our leaders/facilitators.
There are two questions this seems to trigger. One, why are so few people attracted to such an eminently intelligent and practical system? and two, just exactly what’s going on in the States where the thing was born? Is it true that there is disillusionment and squabling? Squabling about what? I would love to know.
I would also like to know who, in your opinion, is sound and can be trusted to look after the movement
Are the Thesengas still active?
Best regards and the blessings of the Path be upon you.
I’m going to answer you offline . . .

I have been intensly studying the Pathwork for the past few years. I manage to work through at most 2 lessons in a week and expect it will take me until March or April of 2009 to complete my first reading through all the lectures.
I commend you on your efforts to create a book around the lectures. I too feel called to write a book at some point. In part I have felt sad that while I have pointed others towards the Pathwork books, so few seem to be willing to even work with the books, let alone take on the task of reading all the lectures. I tried joining Pathwork groups only to find the others in the group weren’t really studying the lectures.
So it seems the only way to get more of this information out there is to produce a higher level version of the information that others can access.
Yet I have seen how there is knowlege that can only be gained by reading in sequence. I guess that is all part of the plan. Only those that are truly commited will learn.
I know the Guide mentions this in one of the lectures. How a path such as this can only be taken by a very few.
Blessings,
Lila
Hi, Lila
I can’t remember if I responded to this offline or not at the time you posted it. If that seems scattered, it’s probably because my father was very ill recently and then died, and I went to France (where he lived) twice during April and May and have had to scramble to get other things done on time, etc. I know I sent a message to someone in response to something I received from them, but I can’t remember if this is the same message.
ANYWAY — I too have found that in Pathwork circles, there are those who actually study the Lectures and those who don’t. I want there to be a way around that. I’m not comfortable with the idea that only a few people on the Earth are going to walk this path right now. It could be true, of course, but I don’t want it to be. So I remain very committed to the book. I just got some very encouraging feedback on it from a reader who didn’t know me or the Pathwork. I need to get back into a rhythm of working on it, which was definitely interrupted by all the recent stuff in my family. With a few more months of serious work, I think I could be ready to submit it to an agent.
I’d love to hear more from you. Take care,
sw
Thanks for the smiley face, biomedia!
Skywhale,
I am glad you replied. I wondered if my post had somehow offended you.
I know someone else offered this, but I also would be willing to read and provide feedback on your book if you wanted that.
I also think it would be great if more people were able to do the work. I wonder if there is some way the concepts can be communicated in a manner that would motivate people to begin the work. Even if it was at a less intense level, it would still help to raise the overall consciousness.
Blessings,
Lila
Hi, Lila,
I appreciate your offer and sent you the file. Tell me if you think what I’ve written is communicated in the manner you’re talking about.
Thanks,
sw
