Intermission, etc.
June 3, 2007
To anyone who watches this site for new posts,
I’m about to go on vacation, and don’t expect to post again until June 18th. At this point, I have about two dozen more summaries awaiting pre-publication review, and all of those should be posted by the end of July. There is energy of mine flowing towards another personally-important project right now, but I’m still hopeful of meeting or coming close to my goal of 150 summaries by the end of 2007.
If you have had any thoughts about any of the summaries and have wondered whether I’d be receptive to feedback, the answer is that I would very much appreciate whatever you have to say, particularly if it would help me to improve an existing summary. So, please, don’t be shy about expressing your thoughts if you feel the urge.
For anyone who’s curious, so far I’m getting about ten visits a day, and perhaps half a dozen weekly clicks from here to a full Pathwork Lecture on the Foundation’s website. Many of the searches that lead here sound like they might have been formulated by people already familiar with some Pathwork concepts. So the impact of the site is pretty obscure and insignificant at this point, I’m inclined to think, but it’s a beginning, and when I read over the existing summaries, I feel good about their usefulness. So, I continue to be inspired to complete this task, in harmony with the rhythms of my own energy and of the growth this process is taking me through.
Anyway, look for some new posts in a couple of weeks.
Be well,

Why the occasional CAPITALIZED word?
January 18, 2007
On occasion, you’ll see words in the summaries CAPITALIZED. This reflects an imperfect attempt on my part to draw attention to actions recommended by the Guide, as opposed to conceptual explanations. I say “imperfect” primarily because there are countless references to our need to become aware of unconscious energies and concepts, and those don’t always get picked up in the summary. There are doubtlessly other valid criticisms one could make about the consistency and thoroughness of my attempt. However, the underlying point is that if one makes a serious effort to act on the Guide’s suggestions, the Lectures will have a vastly greater effect than they will if one relates to them on a primarily abstract level, and I hope the capitalization is useful from that point of view.
Copyright
January 16, 2007
A quick note on copyright: Whether I can claim copyright in the summaries or whether the copyright belongs to the Pathwork Foundation is a subject about which there’s room for honest disagreement. I’m claiming whatever rights in these are mine to claim, and I’m leaving the issue of what those rights are unresolved. The point is, though, that one way or another, these summaries are protected. I can’t speak for the Foundation and for what it might consider to be an infringement of whatever rights they might have. As far as I’m concerned, you’re welcome show the summaries to interested friends. They are not for commercial distribution, though, and so they should be passed on with the reservation of rights notation at the bottom. Better yet, just send people here if they have access to the Internet. Thank you.
About the sometimes disjointed “flow” of the summaries
January 6, 2007
One other introductory point: The summaries occasionally appear to move abruptly from one topic to another. This is especially true when there are questions and answers following the main Lecture topic. The point of the summaries is to convey succinctly the conceptual essence of each Lecture, and so transitional material which would make the connections more apparent has been eliminated. While this makes for a much shorter document than the original Lecture, it sacrifices “flow.” The original Lecture always fits together more coherently, and needs to be read in any event in order to convey the full transformational potential of the teachings.
What this is/will be
January 5, 2007
This blog is about the teachings of the Pathwork Guide. Most likely, if you found your way here, you know something about the Pathwork. If you don’t, a good place to get oriented is the official site of the International Pathwork Foundation: www.pathwork.org
My intention is to summarize all 258 Pathwork Lectures and to post the summaries here. This project is my own, and is not sponsored, sanctioned or otherwise affiliated with the Foundation. It’s just something that I feel strongly called to do. I know that there are many people for whom the basic concepts of the Pathwork resonate, but for whom the Lectures are verbally overwhelming. I know that summaries can be a good point of access for people who are interested in getting a basic feel of the Pathwork, and that summaries can inspire people to make the effort to read and work with the Lectures. I have also experienced that summaries can be a good tool for reinforcing the content of a Lecture, and that a body of summaries is relatively easy to search for particular concepts.
To those who might ask, who am I to do this, my answer is, “I’m someone who feels the call and is willing to put in the time and effort.” If someone else feels the same way, they’re obviously free to do their own version of what I’m doing. My ego attaches a little bit to this project, but my deeper attitude is that the more (competent) summarizers there were, the better off everyone would be. So yes, I claim that I’m competent to do this, as I’m sure many other people are as well.
As for sharing personal information about me, I judge that it would be irrelevant to the purpose. I’m a Pathworker. I have wonderful light-filled aspects and I have problematic, confused aspects, just like everyone else. The more I work with the Lectures, the more the balance shifts in a favorable direction, but it’s a gradual process. If you’re new to Pathwork and you’re expecting something quick, I doubt you’ll find that here. It takes time, but I’ve found and seen that it also takes us to some very deep and wonderful places, if we’re willing to put the effort in.
So that’s enough introduction. I’m going to start posting Lectures, and sometimes I’ll post my own comments on them. By the end of 2007, there should be at least 150 summaries here. Other than that, we’ll see what happens. My hope is that at least a few people will be served. I know that I will be.
Peace,
